Air fryers are a practical way to cook tandoori-style chicken at home because they give you high heat and good surface colour without needing a traditional tandoor. The key is a well-seasoned yoghurt marinade and enough space around the chicken for hot air to circulate.
What you need
- Chicken thighs, drumsticks or boneless pieces
- Natural yoghurt
- Zouk Tandoori Masala
- Lemon juice
- A little oil
Method
- Mix yoghurt, Tandoori Masala, lemon juice and a little oil.
- Coat the chicken thoroughly and allow it to marinate.
- Preheat the air fryer if your model recommends it.
- Arrange the chicken in a single layer and cook until browned and completely cooked through, turning if needed.
- Rest briefly before serving.
How to get better colour
Avoid overcrowding the basket. Too much marinade sitting on the surface can also reduce browning, so let excess marinade drip away before cooking.
What to serve with it
Serve with salad, yoghurt, flatbread or fragrant rice made with Zouk Pilau Rice Seasoning.
