About Zouk's Pilau Rice Seasoning
Many countries have their own take on this popular rice dish, the Zouk pilau rice seasoning is a fusion of modern and traditional flavours, combining herbs and spices. Pilau rice seasoning is all about the infusion and absorption of the flavours within the grains of rice.
When making pilau rice, basmati is our preferred rice to use as it’s easy to prepare and effortlessly absorbs all of the delicious fragrances as it cooks.
Lightly toast the pilau rice seasoning in a pan for a few minutes, to release the volatile oils, before adding your rice.
Add water or broth along with bay leaves and a cinnamon stick to further enhance the flavour. Leave to infuse for around 15 minutes, or until the water is fully absorbed.
