a little expensive

I have used pre-mixed spices from other brands that work out cheaper per 100g than this brand.I'm not sure if I received the wrong item or if the labelling just isn't very clear. I was expecting Chaat Masala for cooking and received Masala Chai with instructions on the back for making tea. The mix of spices is completely different.I followed the instructions for chai and it was pleasant, if a little time consuming compared to simply making tea.I probably won't buy from the brand again as it is a little more expensive compared to what I can buy locally.

"Zouk" Chaat Masala Spice Blend

This is a very tasty, slightly sweet spice blend, which can be used as a rub, or for adding to Indian dishes. It is made with dried mango powder and not too hot with chilli, so if you prefer a milder spice mix, this could be what you are looking for. I used a tablespoon of it mixed in with sliced onions, gram flour and a splash of water to make an onion bhaji mix which came out pretty well and tasted delicious. Good quality spice mix!

Delicious - even on Fruit Salad!

So far I've tried these on three things - roasted veg, chicken wings, and fruit salad, and I've enjoyed all of them. It gives a nice tang, and tastes delicious. I've taken one star off for value for money, but if you do enjoy it, you can always buy a bigger container which works out better value.

Not very authentic

Quite salty - it's the main ingredient, and while chaat masala should contain a decent amount of salt it shouldn't really be the biggest component - more importantly though, it shouldn't be normal salt - authentic chaat masala uses "black salt" which is quite distinctive not just because of the colour but because of the pungent sulphurous flavour it adds, and that is missing here. There is a decent amount of mango powder to give it the sourness, but they have boosted it by also adding citric acid, presumably a cheaper ingredient.Speaking of which, the use of white pepper instead of black which should be used in the real blend is also a clear cost saving measure.I actually make my own chaat masala from individual ingredients - if you can't do this yourself, then I'm sure that there are more authentic chaat masala blends out there than this one.

Good Masala Chai – A Nice Tea Experience

I recently tried Zoak Masala for the first time. I ordered the chart masala but received the Masala Chai instead. Since I'm a tea lover, it turned out to be a nice surprise. The product arrived in a 60g package priced at £3.50, which is a bit more expensive than my usual brand.Taste and Scent:The aroma is nicely spiced, and the taste is good. The black pepper flavor is more prominent than the other spices, giving it a strong kick. I would rate the taste 4/5.Overall, it's been a good experience trying this Masala Chai, and I’m happy with it.
